this is my optical illusion. if u look closely, you can see a couple different images. you can see something that resembles a spaceship, you can see an eye, and a funny cartoon face. also if you look into the center for 20 seconds and close your eyes then the images in your head will be opposite what they are on the screen.
an optical illusion is an image that for every person, there is something different that you can see. it tricks your mind in to seeing things that are not there.

project 4

1) How do masks make the silhouette work?
the masks create different layers without effecting the main image. in this case, it allowed me to
2) What images did you find to put inside your cutout?
3) How did you get the letters to trace around the cutout?
4) How satisfied were you with your silhouette and your letter tracing?

for the final project, i used many different tools. first for the red frame, i used the rectangular marquee tool ad then replaced the original blue color to the bright red. then i used the bur tool to blur the windows. then i lightend the left window edge & the shutter using the Dodge tool. followed by me darkening the right window edge & the shutter using the Burn tool. then i sharpened the the top window edge using the Sharpen tool, saturated the flowers on the right using the Sponge tool, desaturated the flowers on the left using the Sponge tool and finally, smudged the tiles below the window using the Smudge tool. these are alot of tools i didnt know existed and i will use them in the future.

LB 5

1.- What shapes did you use?
- i used the star and moon shapes, as well as a lightning bolt. i also used paw prints and a trademark symbol.
2.- Why did you choose those colors?
- i chose to use purple because its my favorite color, and i used bright neon like colors for the shapes because they would stand out against a purple background.
3.- How can you have make it better?
- i could have used more shapes and maybe a bigger variety of colors in this lab.
4.- What was your inspiration?
- to create the thing that the lab requires.
5.- Are shapes difficult to use? why?
- no the shapes are not difficult to use . the photo shop options make it very easy to use and they give you a big variety of shapes so its hard to use the same shape twice.

Reflection Journal
In this term in Multimedia, our central area of focus was on using photoshop. we learned about many of the tools and how to apply them to different projects. One of the major projects involved using masks in photoshop.
A mask in Photoshop takes the image, and selects a certain area and makes it its own layer without interrupting the part of the picture that is not selected so you can make edits to the background. for example, with my project 2, i selected the whole baby tiger, and made it a layer mas so i can adjust the background without effecting the tiger itself. The color the selection makes is red, distinguishing it separate from the whole image. the white and black areas represented in the layer mask options is the background/foreground colors.
in mask mode, you get to use many tools in order to edit your photo. One i used was the ying yang tool which has a vast amount of options. Such as contrast, and black and white. Another tool i used was the Text tool to input text in my picture. it helped enhance the image. the adjustment layers i created kept the image from editing things i didn't intend to edit. it also gave me more layers to work with. in the end even though mask mode was a easy way to select, i found that the lasso was easier, but the mask was more precise.

the point of this project was to learn how to work in quick mask mode. i chose my favorite animal, a snow tiger and used the quick mask tool to cut out the image of the leopard. then i duplicated the background image. then, i went into quick mask mode and cut out the image. then i used the 'add layer mask button'. i duplicated my backround layer and re-labeled it for my effects. then i used the ying yang symbols and created an adjustment layer. this made my image look black and white. i did it again with a diffrent adjustment layer i took the brightness layer down and brung the contrast up. then i added a layer of text by clicking the f button.
bubblehead

1. the objective of the task was to mask my face and put it on another persons body.
2. i chose my favorite actress Sanna Lathen. i used her because shes pretty and successful.
3. it turned out okay. our skin pigmentation s are different so it looked a little funny but besides that it came out alright.
4. the cutting out of my head was the hardest part.it was hard to get around every part of my head without any white spaces.
5. i would cut out my head more precisely and use someone with the same skin color as me.
ABC

first i chose dark blue for my backround color for this project. then i chose black as my forground color. then i used the type tool and changed the size to 72. for the letter 'A', i added a drop shadow. i changed the opacity to 25%, the angle to 171, the distance to 28, the spread to 8 and the size to 10. for the letter 'B', i added a outer glow by increasing the spred to 9 and the size to 18. for the letter 'c', i added a blevel emboss and changed the depth to 500.

for this lab, i got a picture of my favorite basketball player ; renee montgomery. i then made 5 copies of the layers and moved them in a diagonal position, and put the original picture in the top right hand corner. for the first picture, i made it black and white by de-saturating the image. for the second image, i saturated the image to 100 percent. for the third image, i replaced the main color with white and also made it brighter. for the last one, i changed the hue around and got that result.

my pic (:

First,I uploaded a picture of fruits to photoshop. Then, I proceeded to crop out the fruits I needed to create a face using the vararity of tools provided including the marquee tool, the magnetic lasso and the magic wand depending on the unique shap of the fruit. Then I made different layers with the cut outs and named them after the diffrentbody parts. For example, I named the melon head and a kiwi I named mouth. Then I went to the different layers and rearanged the fruits and pieces and made the face as displayed here.

what is juxtaposition
Juxtaposition is when the media places ideas or characters in an ad side by side with the product to advertise it for the purpose of familiarizing the viewer with the company, getting them to purchase it.
